Chief Executive Officer
Jens Erik Gould is the founder and CEO of Amalga Group, a nearshore BPO he launched in 2021 to bridge the gap between fast-growing U.S. companies and exceptional talent across Mexico and Latin America. He brings more than a decade of operational experience in Mexico, along with earlier careers in international finance at firms like Apollo Global Management and in journalism at Bloomberg News and TIME Magazine. Jens built Amalga around a simple conviction: nearshore outsourcing should elevate the people doing the work, not commoditize them. The company's name comes from the word "amalgamate" — a reflection of his lifelong focus on bridging cultures and broadening horizons, now through the teams Amalga builds for clients in legal, financial services, tech, and retail. He holds an EMBA from Arizona State's W.P. Carey School of Business, a BA from the University of Michigan, and is a Fulbright Scholar.

Michael Hengst is a finance leader with 20 years of experience across operational finance, venture capital, advisory work, and entrepreneurship. At GE, he served as CFO and built and led a 30+ person FP&A team managing $200M in revenue; as a VC fund manager, he evaluated 600+ startups and doubled portfolio value in two years. As an advisor to 80+ startups and SMBs, he has supported financial modeling, valuations, M&A, capital raising, and strategic growth planning, and at Amalga he brings that same focus on helping businesses improve performance and scale.

Our CDMX Hub at Insurgentes Sur 1079 sits in the heart of Colonia Noche Buena, one of the city's most connected and energetic business corridors, and gives our 12-person team access to micro-roasted coffee, an outdoor lounge, and premium common areas that make collaboration feel natural. It's a polished, rugged-refined environment where bilingual professionals do serious work without sacrificing the culture that makes it worth showing up.
We run a seven-step process: application, phone screen, video interview, skills assessment, client interview, offer, and onboarding. Each stage has a clear timeline and a real person committed to following up with you either way.
We pay every new hire in full from day one of training, not after a probationary period. You work with a coach who guides you through the role until you are ready to run on your own.
We require fluency in both English and Spanish for most roles. Amalga is bilingual by design, and every team member operates at a U.S.-client-ready level in both languages.
We offer hybrid and remote arrangements on some roles, with flexibility depending on function and client. Other roles are on-site five days a week.
Your Amalga career grows from within. We post open roles internally first, and you receive a written development plan with clear criteria for your next step. Many team members move up within two to three years.
